Stars

Elope with me
For a while
I’ve got boxed wine
And I’m slumberless

I know a seahorse we can ride
Through the air
Nobody knows
But it hides in my hair

So elope with me
For a while
I’ve got used up songs
And I’m bored out of my mind

Just an idea we could dwell on
If you want
Nobody knows
But I’ld like to hear my thoughts
Through your lips
One of these nights

And the seahorse says frustration
Is fruitful for my art
Could it be this isolation
Speaking to my heart?

And the seahorse drives my mind
Into thinking I’m in love
I don’t trust myself now
Or the skylines
I keep on dreaming of

So forgive me
For a while
With my head on your chest
You with your back to the ground

I’ve got a dirty room
And these walls are paperthin
Nobody knows
But I lie awake as the silence goes

So forgive me
For a while
I’ve made winds into waves
That’s how I survive

The stars are only kites
Coming out around midnight
Nobody knows
But we hold every string
Now let them go
With me

And the seahorse says frustration
Is fruitful for my art
Could it be this isolation
Speaking to my heart?

And the seahorse drives my mind
Into thinking I’m in love
I don’t trust myself now
Or these skylines
I keep on dreaming of
