Mr. Buddha

Hey, I picture Mr Buddha catching me when I fall
I think a girl like me could make him very happy
I want to fall down and bounce right back
Up and down, just like that
Like on a trampoline, jumping on his big, round belly

He’ld hold me like a baby bird in his hands
Tell me to slow down
Sayin; do you know what it takes to stay when the time flies?
I’ld say; Buddha, wisely have I lived
I’ld say; wisely will I fly with you
You’re no man of slow goodbies

So let me stand by you
Baby, breath now, you’ve given all you can
And let me, for once, guide you
You must be a very tired man

Hey, I picture Mr Buddha taking up my bed
While I’m looking through clothes
Getting dressed for my big show
He’ld sit there with a cup of green tea
And his friday night cigar
Saying; babe, come back to bed before you go

So I’ld curl up next to him, take a puff, leave a kiss
Take his love as it is
Saying; don’t fall asleep before the night is done
And later, when the spotlights fade
And I’m getting drunk but I’m still unpaid,
I’ld go home and hope the moment isn’t gone

And I’ld say
Let me stand by you
Baby, breath now, you’ve given all you can
And let me, for once, guide you
You must be a very tired man
