Wandering

you see, i’ve fought this thought for way too long

i got scared of the things it said to me

i guess i’ve been on my way, protecting my heart to this day

walking every road that keeps me free

and that’s the way that i, taught myself to never try to tie

myself round lover’s chains

’cause one day if the chains let go, i won’t know which way to flow

if I’ve built a home in someone else

but tonight I’m weaker than I’m wise

need me like there’s no way it will ever end

oh, tonight, come, make me close both my eyes

love me like there’s nothing that holds me back

and then, then i’ll keep on wandering

hey, you, I apologize, for telling tales between two sighs

i can’t speak truth in other ways

i follow the airplanes in the sky, i follow each soul that walks on by

my head it turns the other way

maybe you’ll find  me, astray, after one-two many drinks

when the crowd’s used up, and I’m obsessed with myself

in the palm of my hand

lies my soul, lies my land

i want to feel what i’ll never understand

’cause tonight I’m weaker than I’m wise

need me like there’s no way it will ever end

oh, tonight, come, make me close both my eyes

love me like there’s nothing that holds me back

and then, then i’ll keep on wandering
