If Love Is A Cross

once my house

lost its walls

and there was the world, but no doors

to enter or leave through if i go

lukewarm night, skies were clear

how you blinded me, oh, you

made me close my eyes

all we did on that night

was to fall so in love

all i did was to belong

with my head in your arms

once my house lost its walls

and there I was left on the field

they told us to leave

so we left all those things

things we hadn’t used for all those years

things earned through money

kept creating our fears

us and the road, i said

burn what’s behind us

burn the tracks so they won’t find us

if we’re lost we’ll be fine

all we did on that night

was to stop looking back

all I did was to believe

that you next to me is

all I need

on the last day you woke

woke up so differently, didn’t we?

love became another thing to carry

if love is a cross, if its heavy on our shoulders

why would we try to carry it like its a part of us?

if love is a cross

if it turns heavy on our shoulders

why would we try to carry it when it keeps slowing us down?

if love is a cross, if its heavy on our shoulders

why would we try to carry it like its a part of us?

if love is a cross

if it turns heavy on our shoulders

why would we try to carry it when it keeps slowing us down?
